JD's Got A Gator!

Decked out in his camo ball cap and rubber boots, 3-year-old JD test drives his Christmas present from his papa Bill and Nana (Alisa). Appears to be a keeper!

Justin, Mindy, and JD left today. Richard and I drove to Bartram's Trail and hiked to the top of Scaly Mountain. Richard said the elevation was 4800 feet, but I believe it must have been 48000! We hike 2-1/2 hours.....but felt more like 2-1/2 days! After 3 days of eating, working puzzles, and visiting, I needed the exercise.

A rainy day in the mountains kept us from getting outside to play today, but it enabled all of us to spend some quality time cooking, watching Alabama football, and playing games. We were honored to have Alisa's Aunt Alice come for a traditional New Year's lunch of ham, black eyed peas, collard greens, corn bread, and butternut squash casserole. Mary Ann and Sable arrived this morning as well. We all worked on a jigsaw puzzle over the past two days. One more day and it should be finished!
